BIOGRAPHY: William Alonzo THOMAS - TFG-47b
With the death of William Alonzo Thomas almost the last representative of the generation that made Bradford County has passed away. He was the son of Jacob and Susannah (Rowley) Thomas, who came from New Hampshire in 1808, and settled in what is now Troy township, on what later became known as the A. H. Thomas farm, about four miles south of troy. Twelve years later Jacob and Susannah Thomas moved a mile and a half farther south, to a new farm. Their children were Zurah, who married Samuel Case), Alvin W., Samuel, Hiram, Chester, Allen, Lucy, who married Dummer Lilley), and William Alonzo, the subject of this sketch, who was born June 6, 1824, and who resided on the old farm, just north of Alba, until five or six years ago, when advancing years caused him to seek a home with his daughter in this place.
