Occupation Farmer, Lumberman and Merchant.
Alvah resided on a farm in Scottsdale PA.He fought in the Civil War on the Union side in Company B, fifty-second Regiment of PA Volunteers. He was wounded in the head at the battle of Fair Oakes on May 31, 1862. Dr. Becker, a fine doctor from the Dutch Mtn Community of Bella Sylvia, was sent south to care for him. He returned home and received a disability discharge on Aug. 11, 1862. He always wore a beard to hide his wounds.He engaged in the lumbering and mercantile business.

Dr. John C. Becker, a fine doctor from the community of Bellasylva, was sent to Philadelphia to care for Alvah Fassett of Scotsville, who was shot in the head in the Battle of Four Oaks in 1862. Alvah recovered but always wore a beard to cover the scars.
BIOGRAPHY: TFG-129-Alvah resided on a farm in Scottsville, PA. He served in the civil War in Co. B, 2nd Pennsylvania Volunteers. In the Battle of Fair Oakes, 31 May 1862, he was shot in the head.
