BIOGRAPHY: TFG-137-Elihu was a white smith and a turner of iron to make "cotton Jins" for the cotton mills in early CT. He was an able gun smith and successful hunter and trapper. He strained a blood vessel while at work and was advised to change occupations, so he migrated with his family to what was then Braintrim, Windham Township, Luzerne Co., PA, but now is Forkston Township, Wyoming Co., PA. About 1814 he settled on a farm near his father on a road connecting Forkston and Laceyville and Scottsville PA. His Uncle Elijah lived in Forkston and Uncle Josiah in Scottsville. He was a school teacher in the first old school house in Forkston, near one of the covered bridges that was taken away in the 1850 flood. It is said that he taught over thirty terms of school. He was the father of twenty-one children. Some lived but a short time. This information was given by his 18th child, Albert Dennis Fassett. The marriage date and birth of the first two children are from Killington, CT Records.
Their Children (These names and dates are from an old family Bible, property of Mrs. Ellen Fassett Taylor, Waterloo, NY. There were two boys named Perry and two girls named Tamison, but the dates were obliterated).
[1452] TFG has d. 7 June 1863. He signed his Will on 20 April 1868.
