Josiah FASSETT was born on 1 Dec 1687 in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He died on 16 Mar 1740 in Bedford, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He settled in Harwick, and became member of the Separatist Church. This church was practically the nucleus of the settlement of Bennington, Vt., in 1761, and John Fassett, clerk and deacon, was a leading man in that company of wise and brave pioneers that laid the foundations of Vermont, making the name of "Green Mountain Boys" famous. The early town meetings were held at his tavern. He was Captain of the first militia company in 1764; one of the first town Representatives. He was married to Sarah about 1707.
Sarah. Children were: i. Josiah FASSETT.
BIOGRAPHY: TFG-22- Josiah first lived in Billerica and later in Hardwick, MA. In Hardwick he lived on Lexington St. East of Rev. N. Bowers. He was a Captain in the Militia, serving in the Relief of Dunstable, MA. His gravestone in Bedford, MA lists him as a Capt. Josiah Fassett, age 53 years. His son Josiah gave "Bounds" as administrator of his estate 16 March 1740.

[8658] BIOGRAPHY: TFG-210-Richard Louis holds a BA from Penn State U. and MA from Syracuse U. He was a football player at Penn State in the Early '20's. He also played pro ball with the Canton Bulldogs. In Binghamton, NY< he coached football, served as a boys' counsellor and as a school principal before his retirement.
