Note: Benjamin Fassett was a commissary during the Revolutionary War. He married Betty Dewey, daughter of Capt. Elijah Dewey, and they had three daughters. He later married Mrs. Hetty Alvah.

BIOGRAPHY: TFG-79-Benjamin Fassett was the youngest son of Capt. and Deacon John Fassett. He was known as a Capt. and Colonel. He bought land extensively on hte Eastern border of Bennington, VT and resided there for some time. Later he occupied the Dr. Morgan house opposite the Courthouse. He was a Commissary in the Revolutionary War and served in other capacites as well. He is mentioned in the Diary of John Fassett, Jr. who was his brother. Benjamin was a civil and military leader. He later operated an ochre bed in the Eastern part of Bennington.
