BIOGRAPHY: Obit-he graduated from Overbrook High School.
BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Wagner started his career at the Philadelphia Navy Yard as a painter apprentice
by completing the four-year program and moved up the ranks through foreman, quarterman,
and chief quarterman at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. In 1958, he was selected as master
of the Portsmouth Paint Shop at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and the family moved to
Portsmouth. He became group master in 1968, the highest civilian position at the Navy yard.
He retired in 1974 and moved to Aberdeen, N.C. In 2001, they moved to Aston Gardens,
in Sun City Center, Fla.
BIOGRAPHY: Throughout his life, Verner was active in music, from singing in his church choir and
the Southern Pines Choral Society, to playing the organ, piano and banjo, and enjoying
all kinds of music from the Big Band era to musicals to classical music.

Portsmouth Country Club in Greenland, N.H., and Southern Pines Country Club, Southern Pines, N.C.

Verner Wagner
SUN CITY, Fla. - Verner Wagner, 86, of Sun City, formerly of Portsmouth, N.H.,
died on March 23, 2004, at his home.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he graduated from Overbrook High School.

William V. Wagner, and daughter-in-law Kay W. Wagner;
