BIOGRAPHY: TFG-187-Little is known of him other than he migrated from CT, settled for a time in Scottsville, PA. In Jasper Fassett's will dated April 4, 1840 mention is made of Schuyler Fassett as guardian for his daughters Mary and Angelina, and John Fassett as guardian for his four sons. Schuyler was at one time Justice of the Peace in Windham Township, Wyoming Co, PA. Schuyler married and moved to WI around 1850. He died there of smallpox.
TFG-188- From: History of Rock Co. WI, "in 1848 John Fassett came from PA, with his wife and two sons, Sherman and Porter. Mr. Fassett's twin brother Schuyler, accompanied them. By the way, this gentleman (Schuyler) was the third postmaster at Edgerton, WI, and I'm told that in those early days he found it quite a task to keep his silk hat smooth, nor could he take a trolley or limited express to Millwaukee to purchase a new one." --P652
27 October 1845, Schuyler is elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat representing Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties. From the article it appears that this was at least his second term.
Schuyler was a teacher in Mehoopany circa 1830.
In 1835 he was appointed Justice of the Peace.
