Fred L. lived in Auburn
From Obit - Fred L. Fassett was a longtime reporter for The Lincoln Star and a Veterans affairs leader. Mr. Fassett was a Star staff member for about 25 years, reporting city Hall news and he worked for a short time as librarian for the Star and for the Journal-Star Printing Co.
Mr. Fassett was a charter member of the original Lincoln VFW post, Charles A. Fraley Post 1450. He later served as VFW state adjutant and was an honorary post commander.
He was also a member of the Spanish-American War Veterans and the Methodist Church.
He Served in the Spanish-American War, Philippine Insurrection, World War I and the Mexican Punitive Expedition.
He operated a newspaper at Herman before coming to Lincoln.
