BIOGRAPHY: TFG-122-Burton received his Degree from Syracuse in 1895. He received his MD from the U. of Maryland Medical School. He also studied at Philadelphia Medical Schools. He was an eye, ear and throat surgeon. He was founder and 1st President of the North Carolina Eye, Ear and Throat Medical Society and a Past President of the Durham-Orange Medical Society. He was a liberal contributor to Wake Forest College and Meredith College and to the Baptist and Oxford Orphanages. His obituary in the Durham, NC paper called him "A skilled practicioner with genuine concern for others and their welfare. His was an abundant life because it enriched so many others."

At yearend 1934 Burton and his daughter were on a cruise. They returned to New York on the SS Vulcania on Jan. 4 1935. At that time they resided at 303 Watts St., Durham, NC
