[7294] BIOGRAPHY: TFG-133-John B. Edwards was one of Laceyvlle's leading citizens. When a young man, he learned surveying and worked a great deal in the area. He was appointed Postmaster in 1854. He was ingenious and made and sold the first P.O. boxes used in the area. He was a jeweler. He served as Justice of the Peace for 30 years. He was elected Associate Judge of Wyoming County, PA. He was Secretary of the Franklin Lodge F. and A. M. for 46 years. From his obituary: "The kindliest that may be written of the deceased is the record of a noble life. If every noble deed he performed in his life were a rose: he today is awake in a wilderness of flowers."
