Munson) d. Aug 6 1895, Tulare Co., CA.59 Truman died 1881, Sacramento, CA?.58 Truman Fassett, a
Granville, Ohio, farmer and mail and stage operator, joined the 1852 exodus to California where he
arrived by ship after crossing the isthmus at Nicaragua. He mined for gold, hauled freight, and, after his
wife and four children joined him in 1855, made his home near Sacramento. In the late 1850s, he and his
sons bought land, part of the Folsom grant near Sacramento, which they farmed for several years. He
later purchased the plot where he remained until his death in 1881 with his wife Lydia who survived him.
He is listed in the 1880 federal census as living in Franklin, Sacramento Co., California with his wife
L.H. Fassett, and a single son N.N. Fassett.
