[5073] BIOGRAPHY: TFG-80-Samuel Fay was a tavern keeper. Samuel and Ruth lived in and ran the famous Old Catamount Tavern. An unusally large catamount had been killed and stuffed and was erected in a standing position on top of a high post in front of the tavern, giving it its name. "It sttod looking in defiance toward New York State." A bronze catamount now stands on a granite foundation marking the spot in Bennington, VT.
