Note: Ann (Fassett) Germain, her husband, Parker Germain, their 3 young children, and her younger brother, N. C. Fassett, emigrated to California in the spring of 1852. The Germains remained in Placerville for nearly 6 years, then moved to Pacheco. After Parker's death, Ann lived in Oakland and Berkeley.

Lathrope) d. 1883, Contra Costa Co., CA,63 bur. Oakland, Alameda Co., CA. Ann died Oct 27 1917,
South Pasadena, CA,64 bur. Oakland, Alameda Co., CA. Ann (Fassett) Germain, her husband, Parker
Germain, their 3 young children, and her younger brother, N. C. Fassett, emigrated to California in the
spring of 1852. The Germains remained in Placerville for nearly 6 years, then moved to Pacheco. After
Parker's death, Ann lived with her son Noah in Oakland and Berkeley. Parker: Parker Germain first went
to California in 1851 on horseback then returned to Ohio to bring his family the following year. He first
settled in Placerville mining and hauling until 1857, then moved successively to Pacheco, San Leandro,
and Oakland where he operated a dairy farm at Loren Station on Adeline Street until his death in 1882.

i Dwight Germain b. Feb 10 1846, Johnstown, Licking Co., OH,63 Ygnacio Valley rancher,
d. Mar 17 1937, Contra Costa, CA.63 After George Potwin, their sister Clara's husband,
died in 1884, Dwight and Guy Germain moved into his Ygnacio Valley ranch. Dwight, in
particular, was remembered as one of the first walnut growers in Contra Costa County.
ii Guy Germain b. May 1 1848, Johnstown, Licking Co., OH, Ygnacio Valley rancher, d.
Dec 27 1937, Contra Costa, CA,65 bur. Oakland, CA, Mountain View Cem. 66 Three of
Parker and Ann Germain's children, Guy, Dwight and Jane lived for many years on the
Ygnacio Valley ranch on which they began growing walnuts. The ranch had originally
belonged to George C. Potwin, sister Clara's husband, and their redwood house was built
